Marella Cruises UK unveiled the Play Wall, its first interactive gaming experience on the Marella Discovery 2 ship.
The new activity is available at no additional cost to passengers, who can reserve sessions via the onboard kiosk or the Navigate app. The ship also introduces newly refurbished staterooms, with updates to 370 accommodations across multiple categories.
The Play Wall, developed by Neo Experiences (French company specializing in interactive digital walls) offers passengers a new dimension in onboard entertainment by challenging their gaming speed, precision, and coordination.
Guests can select from 28 options catering to various preferences and abilities. Family-friendly titles like Totem Craft encourage creative competition, while games such as Rival Goals appeal to adults with a penalty shootout-style challenge accessible to individuals with disabilities. This innovation highlights Marella’s commitment to inclusive, high-tech entertainment.
In addition to the new gaming feature, Marella Discovery 2 has undergone significant renovations. Updates span multiple cabin categories, including Balcony Cabins, Deluxe Balcony Cabins, Junior Suites, Family Suites, Grand Suites, Executive Suites, and the Royal Suite.
Enhancements include vibrant new artwork, upgraded furniture and beds, renovated bathrooms, modern carpeting, and refreshed balcony spaces. The ship’s lobbies have also been revitalized to provide a contemporary and welcoming atmosphere.
Chris Hackney (Marella's Managing Director) noted that the Marella Discovery 2’s upgrades reflect the company’s focus on enhancing the guest experience. He emphasized that the improvements, coupled with innovative entertainment like the Play Wall, align with the company’s mission to provide exceptional service and memorable voyages.
Marella Discovery 2 is set to sail winter itineraries in the Canary Islands, with summer 2026 itineraries, such as the "Cosmopolitan Classics", now open for booking. Prices for these all-inclusive voyages, which include tips and service charges, start at GBP 1,597 pp.
