NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line announced a further 35 cruise cancellations spanning 4 of its most popular ships - Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Encore, and Norwegian Joy.
The new cancellations, affecting sailings between November 29th, 2025, and April 11th, 2026, follow earlier widespread cancellations across 5 other NCL vessels. The adjustments have been attributed to “fleet deployments,” though further details have not been provided.
The impacted ships and itineraries include:
- Norwegian Bliss: 9 sailings canceled, including voyages from Los Angeles and a repositioning cruise from LA to Miami.
- Norwegian Breakaway: 10 short Bahamas cruises departing from Port Canaveral in early 2026.
- Norwegian Encore: 7 voyages, including round-trip cruises between Miami and Los Angeles, leading to speculation that Encore and Bliss itineraries may be swapped.
- Norwegian Joy: 9 itineraries canceled, including a 23-night repositioning cruise from Port Canaveral to Seattle. Despite this, Joy is still expected to offer Alaska sailings in May 2026, indicating a new repositioning cruise will be forthcoming (RepositionCruises.com).
NCL has offered affected passengers a full refund covering the cruise fare, taxes, fees, and any pre-paid expenses. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method, though timing may vary depending on guests’ financial institutions.
As additional compensation, impacted travelers will receive a 10% Future Cruise Credit (FCC), applicable to a future booking. Terms of use may vary based on the original ship and itinerary booked.
This wave of cancellations mirrors an earlier announcement this year when NCL canceled 38 cruises aboard the Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Dawn. While details remain scarce, the cancellations reflect broader adjustments in fleet deployment and itinerary planning for the coming years.
NCL customers are advised to monitor official communications for updates or to contact their travel agents for assistance with rebooking.
