The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection celebrated the christening of its newest vessel - the Ilma superyacht, during a ceremony at Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale Florida USA).
The special event featured a distinguished group of women leaders from the company’s shipboard and shoreside teams, who served as the godmothers.
Joining the occasion were Jim Murren (Executive Chairman and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection) and Ernesto Fara (President and CFO), Captain Magnus Bengtsson (Ilma’s Master) and Sasha Tyas (General Manager).
The ceremony included a traditional blessing performed by Sandford Sears, affectionately known as "Father Sandy," representing Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades.
Describing the christening as a pivotal moment for the company, Murren underscored its importance in the broader evolution of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. The event brought together employees from the company’s Fort Lauderdale office, local officials, and invited guests. Attendees enjoyed refreshments, signature cocktails, and entertainment as they marked this milestone in luxury maritime hospitality.
