MSC Explora Journeys has revealed the latest details about EXPLORA III, the third ship in its fleet, set to debut in the summer of 2026. Designed to provide a sophisticated and spacious ocean-going experience, this vessel builds on the success of its predecessors by delivering enhanced luxury, refined accommodations, and expanded public spaces.
The ship features 463 Ocean Suites, Penthouses, and Residences, including an increased number of premium categories. Notably, 24% of the suites are Ocean Penthouses, and 9% are Ocean Residences, reflecting a focus on elevated accommodations. Additionally, a second Owner’s Residence has been introduced, offering guests unmatched comfort and exclusivity.
With a spacious layout, EXPLORA III provides 18.7 m2 (201 ft2) of public space per guest - one of the highest ratios in the industry. The design emphasizes openness and elegance, ensuring a relaxed ambiance for all passengers.
EXPLORA III continues Explora Journeys’ tradition of culinary excellence, featuring signature dining venues such as Anthology, Sakura, Fil Rouge, Med Yacht Club, and Marble & Co. Grill. New dining concepts complement these favorites, offering guests a diverse array of gourmet options, from casual fare to fine dining, all crafted to celebrate global cuisines.
The Ocean Wellness concept has been thoughtfully expanded, incorporating a serene spa, cutting-edge fitness facilities by Technogym, and an open-air training area on Deck 14. Guests can enjoy outdoor workouts with panoramic ocean views or engage in activities like Pickleball, Paddle, and Basketball on the enhanced Sports Court. A new running track along Deck 12 adds to the wellness offerings.
The Nautilus Club provides dedicated spaces and curated activities for younger passengers:
- Nautilus Club Juniors caters to children aged 3–5, with additional baby care services.
- Nautilus Club Teens offers tailored experiences for guests aged 6–17, ensuring engaging and age-appropriate entertainment.
For corporate and private events, EXPLORA III features sophisticated meeting spaces on Deck 11. These flexible rooms can accommodate functions such as business conferences, video calls, or special gatherings in a luxurious maritime setting.
EXPLORA III’s maiden season offers diverse voyages, starting with Western Europe and progressing to Northern Europe’s dramatic coastlines, Iceland, Greenland, and North America’s East Coast. Key highlights include:
- Departing Southampton UK on August 17th, 2026, with calls to destinations such as the Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, and Sweden.
- Visits to lesser-known ports like Ronne (Denmark), Nanortalik (Greenland), and Seydisfjordur (Iceland).
- Arrival in Quebec City on September 27th, 2026, followed by explorations of New England and U.S. East Coast ports, including New York City.
- Arrival in Miami on October 25th, 2026, transitioning to a Caribbean winter season.
