The Atlantic Canada Cruise Association (ACCA) reported a record-breaking 2024 cruise season, with 1+ million passengers welcomed through 675 vessel calls between April and November. This marks a 30% increase in both ship calls and passenger numbers compared to the same period in 2023.
More than 25 cruise lines visited the region, including the ACCA’s 5 partner ports - Charlottetown, Corner Brook, Halifax, Saint John, and Sydney - as well as 20 smaller ports.
ACCA Executive Director Sarah Rumley attributed the strong performance to collaboration among ports, industry partners, regional stakeholders, and local communities. She highlighted that favorable weather, the region’s hospitality, and unique guest experiences contributed significantly to the season’s success. Rumley also emphasized the ACCA’s ongoing commitment to promoting a sustainable and responsible future for cruising in Atlantic Canada.
