A passenger on the Sky Princess cruise ship tragically lost her life shortly before Christmas in an incident described as an attempt to jump overboard.

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 21st, while the ship, operated by Princess Cruises, was en route back to Florida following an 8-day Caribbean roundtrip. The itinerary, which began on December 15th, included visits to Cozumel (Mexico), Ocho Rios (Jamaica), and Grand Cayman.

According to reports, the 48-year-old woman attempted to leap from the ship and fell onto the deck. Despite prompt emergency medical attention from shipboard personnel, efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

A representative of Princess Cruises confirmed her passing, emphasizing the immediate medical response provided onboard.

Passengers were informed of the incident via an overhead announcement while in their staterooms.

Princess Cruises has since offered counseling services to those impacted by the event and is cooperating with an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
