Next are listed the top five of the most anticipated large ships set to debut this year.
Norwegian Aqua, the NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line’s first Prima-Plus class vessel, will be 10% larger than her predecessors. This additional space enables innovative features, including the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide, the Aqua Slidercoaster. The vessel will also debut Glow Court, an interactive LED sports complex, and the most expansive Ocean Boulevard promenade in the fleet. Norwegian Aqua will launch with a transatlantic voyage departing from Southampton UK in March 2025.
Mein Schiff Relax, TUI Cruises’ first unit in the InTUItion class, is being constructed by Fincantieri's yard in Monfalcone (Italy). She will be TUI’s first LNG-powered ship, emphasizing environmental sustainability. New features include a Greek island-inspired outdoor area, a Burlesque Bar, and an Asian-Japanese restaurant equipped with immersive digital lighting and projection technology.
MSC World America, the second unit in MSC Cruises’ WORLD-class series, is scheduled to begin operations in April 2025. The ship will be organized into 7 distinct districts, such as the luxurious MSC Yacht Club, the family-friendly Aventura area, and the Zen relaxation zone. With 19 cabin categories, accommodations will range from Promenade View cabins to expansive 150-square-metre Owner’s Suites. The vessel will feature 19 dining options, including 4 main restaurants, 2 buffets, and exclusive venues in partnership with Eataly.
Star of the Seas is RCI-Royal Caribbean International’s second ICON-class unit, scheduled to start operations in August 2025. She will closely mirror the Icon of the Seas with features such as the largest waterpark at sea, Category 6, 40+ dining and entertainment venues, and an ice-skating rink. Initial itineraries include 7-day sailings from Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida).
Disney Adventure starts year-round operations from homeport Singapore in December 2025 for DCL-Disney Cruise Line. The liner will introduce several new for DCL attractions, including three Marvel-themed experiences in the adventure zone, highlighted by the Ironcycle Test Run rollercoaster, the longest at sea. Additional features include Toy Story Place, a water play area for families, and San Fransokyo Street, inspired by Big Hero 6, complete with an arcade. Guests will also enjoy updated accommodations, new dining venues, and exclusive stage shows.
