Princess Cruises (aka "The Love Boat" company) will commemorate 60 years of operation with a special 14-day 60th Anniversary Mexican Riviera Voyage, departing from Port Los Angeles CA USA on December 6th, 2025.
This celebratory sailing on the Royal Princess ship revisits key ports featured on the cruise line's inaugural voyage, which departed on December 3rd, 1965, aboard Princess Patricia.
The voyage itinerary includes overnight stays in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, as well as stops in Loreto, Manzanillo, and Mazatlan. Guests will enjoy an immersive experience in the Mexican Riviera, blending the region's scenic beauty with the legacy of Princess Cruises.
A key feature of this milestone voyage will be a live performance by The Temptations, the iconic Motown group renowned for their classic hit, "My Girl." This appearance marks a dual celebration: the 60th anniversary of Princess Cruises and the 60th anniversary of the song’s release. A preview performance of the beloved hit was held aboard Discovery Princess during the announcement.
The cruise will be hosted by Jill Whelan, Princess Cruises’ Celebrations Ambassador and well-known for her role as Vicki Stubing on the TV series The Love Boat. Whelan, a key figure in Princess Cruises' history, adds a nostalgic element to this commemorative sailing. Additional onboard events, activities, and special guests will be announced closer to the departure date.
This anniversary voyage is just one of several initiatives planned by Princess Cruises to mark its 6 decades of delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. The celebration coincides with the debut of the line’s newest vessel - Star Princess, in October 2025.
Currently, the Carnival Corporation-owned company operates a fleet of 16 ships, offering itineraries to destinations worldwide.
The 60th Anniversary Mexican Riviera Voyage is now open for bookings, presenting a unique opportunity to celebrate the history and legacy of Princess Cruises while exploring the stunning Mexican Riviera.
