66-yo passenger passes away during Silver Dawn stop at Ocean Terminal (Hong Kong)

At 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, January 4th, a medical emergency involving a 66-year-old American male passenger on the luxury ship Silver Dawn was reported while the ship was docked at Tsim Sha Tsui’s Ocean Terminal (Hong Kong).

The individual, who had collapsed in his cabin, was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by paramedics, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have stated that the exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy. Preliminary information notes the passenger had a known history of heart disease.

MS Silver Dawn arrived at the terminal on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. and was scheduled to depart on Sunday, January 5th, at 2:00 p.m. Following the incident, law enforcement officials boarded the vessel for investigation.

Silver Dawn's operational schedule resumed as planned, pending the conclusion of the investigation and necessary formalities.
