The UK-based Riviera River Cruises/fleet has officially transitioned to Riviera Travel, signaling a rebrand that aligns the company’s river shipping operations with its broader range of ultra-premium travel experiences.
This move is part of Riviera Travel's strategy to strengthen its presence in the USA market, accompanied by a refreshed brand identity and expanded offerings.
Marilyn Conroy (Executive VP of Marketing and Sales) explained that the rebrand reflects the company’s evolving portfolio. Riviera Travel’s history, spanning over four decades, has been closely associated with high-end tours and travel experiences. By unifying its name across services, the company aims to better represent its diverse offerings tailored for discerning American travelers seeking luxurious European vacations.
To enhance convenience for travel advisors and their clients, Riviera Travel is introducing bundled travel packages. These include air travel, transfers, river cruises, and pre- and post-cruise stays. The streamlined booking process makes it easier for advisors to organize seamless journeys, and all packages are fully commissionable.
Additionally, the company will now issue commissions to travel advisors two weeks before clients’ departure dates, providing earlier compensation and reinforcing Riviera Travel’s commitment to its trade partners.
In 2025, Riviera Travel will offer incentives to reward travel advisors, such as US$50 vouchers for bookings of seven nights and US$100 vouchers for bookings of 10 nights or more.
Riviera Travel is unveiling new itineraries and onboard amenities for 2025. Combination cruises, allowing guests to sail for up to 29 consecutive days, are a highlight of the expanded offerings. Themed cruises, such as "Gastronomy of the Douro" and "Art and History on the Danube," cater to specific interests, while onboard enhancements include a superior drinks package and locally inspired touches designed to enrich the guest experience.
Conroy emphasized the importance of the travel advisor community in the company’s growth, highlighting Riviera Travel’s efforts to support partners with innovative offerings and streamlined processes. She noted that the rebrand serves to reaffirm the company’s dedication to its advisors, its clients, and the continued evolution of its services.
