Hurtigruten/HX Expeditions launches first Greenland cruises from NYC New York

HX Expeditions/fka Hurtigruten Expeditions announced the launch of its inaugural voyages in Greenland, marking a significant development in the North Atlantic's expedition cruising.

These voyages are fly-cruises inclusive of roundtrip flights from NYC New York USA, and cruising on the hybrid-powered ship MS Fridtjof Nansen.

Hurtigruten's Greenland cruises are designed to offer an immersive experience, showcasing the country's stunning natural beauty, including glaciers, fjords, and wildlife. Passengers will have the opportunity to engage in various activities such as hiking, kayaking, and cultural excursions that highlight the indigenous Inuit communities.

  • Mythical Lands of the North (July 1st & 15th, 2025): This 16-day expedition delves into northwest Greenland, including the legendary Thule region, with chances to spot narwhals, walruses, and polar bears. Prices start at US$17,756.
  • Farthest North to Thule and Kane Basin (July 29th, 2025): A 20-day exploration to the northernmost reaches of Greenland, connecting with isolated communities. Prices start at US$21,360.

Joining all voyages is Aleqatsiaq Peary, an Inuk storyteller, musician, and hunter from Qaanaaq. A descendant of polar explorer Robert Peary, Aleqatsiaq provides a unique perspective on Greenland’s history and traditions.
