Copenhagen Malmo Port (CMP) recorded substantial cruise activity in 2024, nearing 1 million passengers, and projects exceeding this figure in 2025.

In 2024, passenger totals were distributed as follows: Visby, ~170,000; Copenhagen, 818,000+; and Malmo, 1,700. Total calls numbered 280 for Copenhagen (106 turnaround calls, 26 overnight stays), 102 for Visby (operational April-October, plus December), and 3 for Malmo. Copenhagen received calls every month, establishing year-round operations.

New vessel deployments were evident with 9 maiden calls in Copenhagen and 11 in Visby. Copenhagen was recognized as Europe’s Leading Cruise Port 2024 (World Travel Awards). The majority of passengers in both Copenhagen and Visby were German, with strong European representation overall.

CMP forecasts 1+ million passengers and 403 calls in 2025. Projected figures include 850,000 passengers and 295 calls (107 turnaround) for Copenhagen, and 172,000 passengers and 105 calls for Visby. Copenhagen maintains its year-round status, with initial 2025 calls registered on January 3rd. Turnaround passengers contribute significantly to Copenhagen's economy and regional transport hub function.

Copenhagen's shore-power facility, with 5 connection points at Oceankaj and Langelinie, becomes operational in 2025, aiming for full capacity by 2028. CMP has provided shore power to the Oslo-Copenhagen ferry since 2021.

Renovated Langelinie terminals, equipped for shore-power and direct sewage connection, will be fully operational in 2025. CMP targets net-zero CO2 emissions for its operations in 2025.

Strategic partnerships will continue through Cruise Denmark – Copenhagen and Beyond, Cruise Baltic, and Cruise Europe, promoting responsible cruise tourism in the Baltic region. Copenhagen will host the Cruise Europe annual conference in May 2025, 33 years after hosting the inaugural event in 1992.
