SeaDream Yacht Club announced that guests can now book its ultra-luxury voyages to global destinations using cryptocurrency.
Effective immediately, SeaDream accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and 200+ widely used cryptocurrencies as payment, making it the first cruise shipping company to embrace this digital payment method.
To facilitate these transactions, SeaDream has partnered with Coinbase Commerce, a leading cryptocurrency payment platform, ensuring secure and efficient payment processing. The move marks a significant innovation in the luxury travel sector, reflecting an increasing demand for cryptocurrency payment options among discerning travelers.
SeaDream’s adoption of cryptocurrency was unveiled during WAGMI Miami, the USA's longest-running crypto conference. Highlighting the significance of this initiative, Moe Levin, founder of WAGMI Events, commended SeaDream for setting a precedent not only as the first cruise line but also as the first major travel company to integrate cryptocurrency payments. This development, he noted, represents a new benchmark for the future of travel and digital transactions.
SeaDream is also rolling out a fully integrated cryptocurrency payment solution on its website (SeaDream.com) which will be implemented in the coming weeks. This digital integration will enable seamless bookings, aligning with the company’s focus on innovation and guest convenience. Andreas Brynestad of SeaDream Yacht Club emphasized that adopting cryptocurrency reflects the company’s commitment to embracing emerging trends and meeting the evolving preferences of its clientele.
In addition to individual bookings, SeaDream has become the first cruise line to accept cryptocurrency payments for full-yacht charters. This offering is particularly attractive for corporate incentive charters, weddings, events, and other special occasions. By eliminating currency exchange complexities, the use of cryptocurrency enhances transaction ease and flexibility for charter clients.
