Delfin Amazon Cruises, renowned as the world’s first Relais & Chateaux cruise company and a leader in luxury river expeditions on the Upper Peruvian Amazon, has announced that the Delfin I will resume service in April 2025 after a 3-month comprehensive refurbishment.

As the only family-owned and operated high-end river cruise company in Peru, Delfin Amazon Cruises continues to emphasize local prosperity and environmental stewardship in the Amazon region.

The refurbished Delfin I now features oversized suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and private panoramic terraces, with two suites further enhanced by the inclusion of private whirlpools. Upgrades extend to remodeled bathrooms, thrice-daily personalized cabin service, and a modernized exterior that includes an air-conditioned observation deck and observatory balconies. On the top deck, a newly designed lounge area provides a space for guests to relax and enjoy handcrafted cocktails while observing the night sky.

In line with its commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism, the vessel is now equipped with solar panels to generate clean energy. Whether guests book suite by suite or reserve the entire vessel as a private floating villa, RV Delfin I offers a tranquil retreat that balances privacy with environmental considerations. The onboard culinary team has introduced a flexitarian menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including plant-based options in support of initiatives by UNESCO and Relais & Chateaux to promote sustainable food systems.

Rates for Delfin I include meals, excursions, equipment, entrance fees to the Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve, and transfers to and from Iquitos on recommended flights.
