MSC World America, the latest vessel constructed by the French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique/STX France, departed on its final sea trials on Thursday, February 13th.

The trials mark the final phase of testing before the ship is officially delivered to MSC Cruises.

It left the Loire River estuary for this final round of evaluations, with Captain Dino Sagani, who will assume command upon delivery, overseeing preparations alongside Olivier Macoin, the shipyard’s lead trial captain.

Upon successful completion of the trials, World America will be delivered to MSC by the end of March.

The ship will then cross the Atlantic to PortMiami Florida, where she will be officially welcomed with a Christening Ceremony at MSC's newly opened terminal AAA.
