RCI-Royal Caribbean has announced the latest addition to its ICON Class fleet - Legend of the Seas, set to commence operations in Europe during the summer of 2026 (August).
Following the inaugural Mediterranean deployment, Legend OTS will start a year-round deployment in the Caribbean with homeporting in Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale (Florida USA), starting in November 2026.
The vessel will be the 3rd in the ICON series, following the sisterships Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, and is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.
Designed to enhance RCI’s offerings, Legend OTS will first operate 7-night Western Mediterranean roundtrips from Barcelona (Spain), visiting large port cities in France, Italy, and Spain.
By winter 2026, the liner will reposition to the USA, where she will offer 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean itineraries. Every voyage will include a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island CocoCay (Bahamas).
Legend OTS will incorporate ICON Class features, including 8 distinct neighborhoods, 40+ dining and beverage venues, and a variety of entertainment and recreational facilities.
Among the highlights are Crown’s Edge, a combination skywalk, ropes course, and thrill ride; Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea; and 7 pools, including Royal Bay, the largest pool on a cruise ship, and the adults-only Hideaway with a suspended infinity pool. Families will have access to Surfside, a neighborhood designed for younger travelers, and accommodations such as the 3-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.
In line with Royal Caribbean Group’s environmental strategy, Legend OTS will be RCI’s 4th LNG-powered vessel and will incorporate sustainability measures such as waste heat recovery systems and shore power connectivity.
Bookings for Legend of the Seas will soon open, with Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society members receiving early access ahead of the general sale starting February 20th.
