On February 15th, Silver Whisper set sail from Singapore on a 70-day Grand Voyage, covering 37 destinations across 8 countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore. The itinerary offers an in-depth exploration of the region’s cultural and culinary heritage, enhanced by exclusive events and onboard enrichment programs.
For the first time on a Silversea Grand Voyage in Asia, guests will engage in culinary experiences ashore through the Sea and Land Taste (S.A.L.T.) program. Highlights include a Michelin-starred chef-led exploration of Thai cuisine in Bangkok, an in-depth look at local food traditions in Aomori (Japan), and an introduction to kaiseki dining in Hakodate. Additional experiences range from a traditional junk boat cruise in Ha Long Bay to a ride on Shanghai’s high-speed Maglev train and a teppanyaki dinner overlooking Tokyo at night.
The itinerary also includes a full circumnavigation of Japan, with calls in Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Hakodate, Kobe, and other key cities. To further enhance the journey, 3 exclusive events have been arranged for Grand Voyage guests:
- Bon Voyage Reception – Singapore (February 14th). Prior to departure, travelers attended a private reception at the Andaz Glasshouse in Singapore, where they met fellow guests and celebrated the voyage’s commencement.
- The History & Heritage of Bangkok – Bangkok (February 24th-25th). During an overnight stay in Bangkok, guests will stay at the Mandarin Oriental and cruise the Chao Phraya River on the Royal Naval Boat Angsana. The evening will conclude with a multi-course Thai feast at Sala Rim Naam. The following day, guests will visit the Royal Barge Museum and choose between touring the Sanctuary of Truth or exploring Bangkok’s Talad Noi Creative Quarter before rejoining Silver Whisper.
- Secrets of Japan’s Cultural Center – Kyoto, Japan (March 25th). Guests will travel from Osaka to Kyoto aboard the Shinkansen bullet train, visiting the Sanjusangendo Temple and attending an exclusive luncheon with a Geisha. A cultural experience at the historic Kosho-Ji temple will conclude the visit before returning to the ship.
