ALMACO Group has successfully completed a comprehensive refurbishment project on the cruise vessel Aroya, owned by AROYA Cruises. Following an extensive renovation period in Bremerhaven and Rotterdam, the vessel arrived at its home port in Jeddah in early December, now fully prepared for its upcoming voyages. The project was carried out in collaboration with MJM.
The modernization effort encompassed significant upgrades to the ship’s catering and public areas. ALMACO Group installed two completely new galleys, introduced a dedicated kids' cooking school, and made substantial modifications to the main galley. Additionally, four new bars and cafés were added, and catering equipment was replaced in 12 different back-of-house and front-of-house areas. The project also included the full refurbishment of 800 square meters of public spaces. In total, more than 38 metric tons of new catering equipment were installed, sourced from 112 different suppliers.
Work on Aroya, formerly World Dream, took place between May and November 2024, involving expertise from multiple ALMACO offices. Esko Ryyppö, Project Manager at ALMACO, highlighted the project’s success, attributing the vessel’s transformation to strong collaboration between ALMACO, MJM, and the shipowner. He emphasized that the coordinated efforts of all involved had resulted in a modernized vessel equipped to provide a high-quality cruise experience.
With the refurbishment now complete, ALMACO extends its best wishes to Aroya, AROYA Cruises, and its passengers for smooth and successful sailings.
