RCI-Royal Caribbean International has initiated the next stage in the development of its 17-acre Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island by inviting Bahamian businesses to submit proposals for involvement in the project.

The company has opened multiple requests for proposals (RFPs) across various sectors, ranging from landscaping to medical services, as part of its broader commitment to fostering business opportunities for Bahamian entrepreneurs, suppliers, and service providers.

Philip Simon (Royal Caribbean Bahamas' President) emphasized the importance of engaging local businesses and artisans in the beach club’s development, describing it as a vital step toward the project’s overall success. He reiterated that the initiative aligns with the company’s efforts to create opportunities within the Bahamian community, ensuring that the new destination will provide long-term benefits for local businesses.

Among the most significant categories open for bids in the coming weeks are trades and facilities maintenance, covering essential operational services such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs, refrigeration, upholstery, and carpentry. Other priority services include landscaping, pool maintenance, pest control, security, medical services, and the provision of retail and locally made Bahamian products.

Further opportunities extend to music and entertainment, beach and water activities, housekeeping, and the conceptualization of The Bunker, a planned signature venue within the beach club. The selected bidder for this project will have the opportunity to develop an immersive experience unique to The Bahamas. Additionally, as part of Royal Caribbean’s Artist Discovery Program, a dedicated Bahamas edition will showcase artwork from emerging Bahamian artists, further connecting visitors to the country’s vibrant culture.

The Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, the first in Royal Caribbean’s Beach Club Collection, is expected to take shape in the coming months ahead of its scheduled opening in late 2025. At the core of the experience will be a deep integration of Bahamian culture, from the location’s pristine beachfront setting to locally inspired cuisine and staffing. Additionally, the beach club will operate under a public-private partnership model, allowing Bahamians to hold up to 49% equity in the venture. The development is designed to merge the natural beauty and cultural essence of The Bahamas with Royal Caribbean’s signature hospitality, service, and design elements.
