Mexican authorities are conducting a search for a missing American cruiser in Cozumel (Mexico).
The 30-year-old Tynisha Williams (а citizen of the USA) disembarked from RCI-Royal Caribbean's ship Radiance of the Seas on February 17th but didn't return in time for the vessel’s departure.
On February 25th, 8 days after her disappearance, the Harbor Master's Office issued a Nautical Notice to alert the maritime community about the situation. Although the shipping agency officially reported her absence on February 17th, the public notice was delayed until the 8th day following her disappearance.
The notice, signed by the ship's Master (Captain Victor Manuel Lozano Jerezano) encourages anyone with information regarding Tynisha’s whereabouts to come forward.
Details about Tynisha's travel companions or whether she was part of a guided tour remain undisclosed. Moreover, information about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or any photographs for identification purposes has not been provided.
The incident marks the second case of a tourist vanishing on Isla Cozumel in recent years. In 2024, a cruiser similarly went missing on the island, leading to a 2-month search by family members without success. The recurrence of such incidents has raised concerns among the local population and tourists alike.
