On March 13th, NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line officially took delivery of its newest vessel, the Norwegian Aqua, from the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, near Venice.
The 156,300-GT-ton vessel inaugurates NCL's Prima Plus class, an evolution of the Prima-class vessels, boasting a 10% increase in size/volume compared to its predecessors.
Norwegian Aqua introduces several innovative attractions while maintaining signature features from earlier Prima-class ships. Among the most anticipated is the Aqua Slidecoaster - the world's first hybrid roller coaster and water slide at sea, encircling the funnel/smokestack and replacing the go-kart track on Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.
Norwegian Aqua is scheduled to enter service on March 28th, 2025, departing from Southampton (England) on its inaugural Transatlantic voyage to Boston (Massachusetts).
The christening ceremony is planned for April 13th in Miami (Florida USA), with actor Eric Stonestreet serving as the ship's godfather.
From April to August 2025, NCL's Aqua ship will operate weeklong Caribbean itineraries departing roundtrip from Port Canaveral (Florida).
Subsequently, from August to October 2025, the ship will offer sailings to Bermuda from New York City.
For the winter season of 2025-2026, the liner is slated to conduct weeklong Caribbean roundtrips from Miami.
