Pacific Explorer transforms into Star Voyager ahead of Asian deployment

The former Pacific Explorer, affectionately known as "Dora," has completed a swift transformation in drydock and has now emerged as Star Voyager. The vessel is undergoing its final preparations in Singapore before commencing service on March 26th under the Star Cruises banner.

While her livery has been updated, Star Voyager retains design elements that pay homage to her Australian heritage and time with P&O Cruises. The ship's hull now features a refreshed motif, incorporating stars similar to those that once adorned Pacific Explorer, maintaining a visual link to her previous identity.

Originally expected to join the fleet of Resorts World Cruises, Star Voyager will instead play a pivotal role in the relaunch of Star Cruises, a brand with 30+ years of history in Asia. Resorts World Cruises is transitioning into two separate brands, with Genting Dream continuing as the sole vessel under Dream Cruises, catering to the premium market, while Star Voyager joins Star Navigator - formerly Resorts World One - under Star Cruises, which will focus on more affordable cruising options.

The rebranding process is expected to take ~3 months but will not impact scheduled sailings. Passengers eager to sail aboard the newly rebranded Star Voyager can book short one-night cruises from Singapore for as little as AU$81 before port charges, while five-night itineraries start at ~AU$1,000. Additional departures from Thailand, Jakarta, and Ho Chi Minh City are also available at similar per-day rates.
