Viking officially took delivery of its newest Viking Longship Viking Nerthus on March 18th, 2025.
The boat was presented at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemunde (Germany) marking the latest addition to the company’s expanding fleet.
Designed to accommodate 168 guests across 84 staterooms, Viking Nerthus will join its sisterships on the Seine River, operating the 8-day Paris & the Heart of Normandy itinerary as well as the newly introduced 8-day Christmastime in Paris & Normandy voyage.
Consistent with Viking’s river fleet, Nerthus features a Scandinavian-inspired design, a distinctive square bow, an Aquavit Terrace, and a range of stateroom options. It shares an identical layout with its sisterships Viking Kari, Viking Radgrid, Viking Skaga, and Viking Fjorgyn.
The vessel is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system incorporating batteries and exhaust gas after-treatment, as well as shore power connectivity to minimize fuel consumption while in port. Onboard solar panels further enhance energy efficiency.
Sailing roundtrip from Paris, Viking Nerthus will call at key locations along the Seine, including Giverny, Rouen, and the historic Normandy beaches. Viking’s exclusive docking location at Port du Grenelle provides guests with convenient access to the Eiffel Tower and central Paris.
Itineraries Aboard Viking Nerthus
