Regent's Seven Seas Navigator to become Crescent Seas' first residential ship

   March 23, 2025 ,   Cruise Industry

Seven Seas Navigator - the oldest vessel in Regent Seven Seas Cruises/RSSC's fleet, is slated for conversion into a luxury residential yacht in 2026. This initiative is spearheaded by Crescent Seas, a new venture from luxury real estate developer Crescent Heights, aiming to expand the concept of residences at sea.

Russell W. Galbut, a founding partner of Crescent Heights and a seasoned investor in the cruise industry, explained that the company selected ships with configurations suitable for conversion into opulent cruising yachts. After selecting the Navigator, they engaged experienced management teams to oversee the ship's operations for the first decade.

Crescent Seas has reached an agreement with the shipowner (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd/NCLH) to acquire Seven Seas Navigator.

The vessel will undergo an extensive drydock refurbishment (exceeding US$50 million) involving 3 design firms - Lissoni & Partners, Journey, and MAWD, each contributing to different aspects of the redevelopment.

Upon completion, the Navigator will feature 210 residences, with prices ranging from US$750,000 to US$8 million.

Amenities will include white-glove butler service for all units and Starlink internet connectivity to facilitate remote work or schooling. Sales for these residences will commence on April 9th, with a sales gallery available in Miami for prospective buyers. The Navigator is scheduled to embark on her maiden voyage as a residential yacht in December 2026.

Crescent Seas also plans to introduce 4 additional luxury residence ships over the next 5 years. Residents will embark on extended voyages worldwide, with stays of 2 to 3 days in each destination, including exotic locales such as French Polynesia, the Faroe Islands, and Madagascar.

To ensure a first-class level of service, the existing crews will continue to operate and maintain the ships. Onboard hospitality services will be managed by The Apollo Group, a company with 50+ years of experience in the cruising industry, renowned for providing high-quality service and dining experiences.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, expressed satisfaction with the agreement, noting that while the Navigator is a favorite among guests, the introduction of two new Prestige Class ships allows for fleet optimization. This arrangement ensures that the Navigator will continue to create unforgettable memories at sea under Crescent Seas' ownership.

This strategic move by Crescent Seas reflects a growing trend in the luxury real estate market, offering affluent individuals the opportunity to own residences that combine the comforts of home with the allure of global maritime travel.
