The Disney Destiny, the latest vessel in the DCL-Disney Cruise Line fleet, has reached a key construction milestone at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg (Germany). The ship was recently floated within the covered dock, allowing for her repositioning as outfitting progresses. Disney Cruise Line has confirmed that onboard systems testing will commence in the coming weeks.
Disney Destiny is the second Meyer Werft newbuild of the year, following the imminent delivery of Asuka III for NYK Cruises. Disney Cruise Line expects to take possession of the vessel in fall 2025. As the third ship in the Wish-class series, she incorporates a "Heroes and Villains" theme and is scheduled to enter service on November 14, 2025, sailing from Fort Lauderdale (Florida). Her inaugural season will feature 4- and 5-night Caribbean itineraries.
Construction of Disney Destiny has advanced significantly since her keel was laid on March 20, 2024. With the vessel’s exterior structure largely complete, current efforts are focused on interior installation. Prefabricated stateroom modules are being placed, while public areas and other spaces are being constructed in situ. Later this summer, Disney Destiny will exit the shipyard’s construction hall, proceeding to the outfitting pier for final preparations. She is then expected to transit the Ems River to the North Sea, where she will undergo extensive sea trials before official delivery.
