NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line's latest vessel, Norwegian Aqua, has commenced her inaugural journey, departing from Lisbon (Portugal) en route to Southampton (England). The voyage marks the first in a series of five inaugural events leading up to its official christening in PortMiami (Florida USA) on April 13, 2025.
As NCL's first Prima Plus Class unit, Norwegian Aqua introduces several industry-first features. Notably, the Aqua Slidecoaster, recognized as the world's first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide, offers guests two distinct ride experiences, standing as the longest and fastest slides at sea.
The vessel also showcases the Glow Court, an advanced digital sports complex equipped with an interactive LED floor that transitions from various sports activities during the day to a nightclub ambiance in the evening. Complementing this is the Aqua Game Zone, a reimagined space featuring a blend of retro arcade games, immersive virtual reality challenges, and interactive gaming experiences.
Entertainment aboard Norwegian Aqua includes "Revolution: A Celebration of Prince," an immersive theatrical concert paying homage to the renowned artist's greatest hits. Additionally, "Elements: The World Expanded" offers an enhanced rendition of NCL's acclaimed show, integrating acrobatics, magic, and visuals inspired by the elements of earth, air, water, and fire.
Culinary offerings have been expanded with the introduction of Sukhothai, NCL's inaugural Thai specialty restaurant, and Planterie, the brand's first plant-based eatery located within the Indulge Food Hall.
Following its transatlantic voyage, Norwegian Aqua will homeport in Miami, Port Canaveral (Orlando), and New York City, providing itineraries to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda through March 2027.
