CCL-Carnival Cruise Line expanded its Australian operations by adding two former P&O Australia ships - Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. Both vessels are preparing for their inaugural voyages from Sydney NSW and Brisbane QLD, respectively.
With these additions, CCL's fleet now comprises 29 vessels, the largest in its 53-year history.
In Sydney, Carnival Adventure was formally welcomed into the fleet during an official ceremony led by Christine Duffy (CCL's President). A second event will take place in Brisbane, marking the arrival of Carnival Encounter.
Both vessels will depart on their first CCL voyages on the same day, embarking guests on their maiden itineraries.
The formerly known as Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter, the ships complete the transition of P&O Australia into the CCL-Carnival brand. The vessels have been reconfigured to align with Carnival’s signature onboard offerings while retaining select features popular among P&O guests.
With Carnival Adventure, Carnival Encounter, Carnival Splendor, and Carnival Luminosa operating from Australian homeports, CCL anticipates welcoming more than 500,000 guests in the region this year.
The Carnival HubApp, now available for guests aboard Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter, facilitates onboard reservations, guest communication, and activity planning. Additionally, all guests sailing on these ships will be enrolled in the Very Important Fun Person (VIFP) Club, Carnival’s loyalty program, which provides access to exclusive promotions and benefits.
Onboard, guests can expect a combination of Carnival’s signature dining and entertainment experiences alongside select features retained from the P&O fleet. Dining options include Luke’s Bar & Grill, while entertainment ranges from deck parties and themed nights to comedy performances and dedicated children’s programs such as Seuss at Sea and Camp Ocean. The Fun Squad, Carnival’s dedicated entertainment team, will lead activities throughout the voyage, maintaining the cruise line’s signature onboard atmosphere.
