Princess Cruises adjusts Galveston operations, cancels 2026-2027 sailings

Galveston (Texas USA) has long served as an embarkation point/homeport for Caribbean cruise itineraries.

For the past five decades, the port has seen steady passenger traffic as cruise lines have expanded operations in the region. Over the last 25 years, multiple major cruise companies have prioritized Galveston as a departure hub.

However, Princess Cruises has announced the cancellation of several scheduled roundtrips from Galveston. At least a dozen sailings originally planned between November 2026 and March 2027 have been removed from the schedule, including 15 of Majestic Princess ship. Affected bookings have been fully refunded.

Despite the changes, Regal Princess ship is set to continue operations from Galveston until at least March 15, 2026.

The Carnival Corporation-owned company has not yet announced plans for the vessel’s deployment beyond that date.

Princess Cruises has maintained a presence in Galveston since 2004, with a 6-year hiatus before resuming operations in 2022.

The 2014-built Regal Princess has been homeporting in Galveston since 2023.

In fall 2024, the vessel experienced technical difficulties that led to the cancellation of 3 voyages. It remained in Galveston for several weeks while repairs were made, with affected passengers receiving refunds, cruise credits, and loyalty points as compensation.
