On April 5, 2025, MSC Cruises inaugurated its new cruise terminal at PortMiami (Florida USA). Designed by Arquitectonica and constructed by Fincantieri Infrastructure, the 492,678-square-foot facility can process up to 36,000 passengers daily and accommodate 3 ships simultaneously.
The terminal introduces a fully biometric embarkation process, utilizing digital identity verification to streamline check-in, security, and boarding procedures. Passengers can complete online check-in, reserve parking in the 6-level garage with over 2,400 spaces, and utilize biometric face pods and e-gates for expedited processing.
Inside, the terminal features 7 curated artworks commissioned through the Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places program. A notable installation is a 10,816-square-foot digital projection on the exterior, displaying real-time oceanic data from NOAA.
The facility will serve MSC Cruises' and Explora Journeys' vessels, including the MSC World America, scheduled for its naming ceremony at the terminal on April 9 before commencing its inaugural Caribbean season.
