NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has formalized an agreement to transfer two of its SUN-class vessels - Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun, to Cordelia Cruises (India).

This strategic move, announced by Cordelia, is set to substantially enhance the company's operational capacity within the region.

Per the terms of the agreement, Norwegian Sky is scheduled for transfer in 2026, with Norwegian Sun following in 2027.

Both vessels have the capacity to accommodate around 2,000 passengers plus 900 crew members.

Jurgen Bailom, President and CEO of Waterways Leisure Pvt Ltd, the parent company of Cordelia Cruises, indicated that the inclusion of these vessels into the Cordelia fleet builds upon the success of Cordelia Empress, which redefined cruise holidays for Indian travelers. He noted that the addition of Sky and Sun marks the beginning of a new era of cruise holidays for Indian guests—one characterized by greater scale, boldness, and immersive experiences.

Currently, Cordelia operates one ship - Cordelia Empress (formerly known as Empress of the Seas) acquired from Royal Caribbean. The two NCL ships will double Cordelia's existing capacity. This expansion paves the way for extended regional cruising options, including longer itineraries and a broader array of destinations across Asia and the Middle East.
