High dive performer Cesilie Carlton was filmed somersaulting off 55ft cruise ship platform into a pool metres below.
A video of the 35-year-old’s feat was posted on Instagram by Sydney Brown, her colleague, where it quickly clocks up thousands of views.
Cesilie works for Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas, which is the largest cruise ship in the world, capable of accommodating 5479 passengers.
Fellow diver Sydney Brown said:
“We have the deepest pool at sea, and if the ship is moving from side to side, the water in the pool can spill out.
“If it's unusually rough weather and we lose too much water, we postpone shows – a safety precaution for our divers who are jumping, like Cesilie from as high as 55 feet.
“This is uncommon though.”
At the 2013 World Aquatics Championships Cesilie won the first gold medal for the U.S.
