The new vessel of AmaWaterways, AmaMagna, will be 22 meters (72 ft) wide - twice the width of a traditional European river boat, the company revealed.
The newbuild, which will enter service on Danube River in 2019, will accommodate 194 passengers in 98 standard rooms, 4 suites and 1 Ama Owner’s luxury suite. All standard cabins will be over 28 m2 (300 ft2), claimed to become “some of the largest in river cruising”.
AmaMagna, which is described as “a game-changer”, will boast a first for river cruising with open-water sports platform featuring canoes, zodiac boats and recreational equipment. The emphasis will be put on "lots of play room" in spots like the gym (large enough for small-group classes) and spacious spa.
Multiple dining venues will include a stylish glass-enclosed al fresco restaurant, enhanced evening entertainment and more onboard activities. Other amenities will include an elevator, top-deck pool and jacuzzi with bar.
The ship will debut a more fuel-efficient and quieter engine.
