Two cruise lines yesterday, September 10, said they were diverting their ships to the hurricane-ravaged St Thomas USVI to evacuate stranded travelers and drop relief supplies.
Norwegian Cruise Line revealed it was sending Norwegian Sky to St Thomas aiming to retrieve as many as 2,000 people on a vacation who were unable to leave before Irma hit on Thursday, September 7. The ship is now off the coast of Mexico and is due to arrive in St Thomas by late Monday, September 11.
Royal Caribbean announced it was redirecting Majesty of the Seas to St Thomas to evacuate stranded travellers and to drop water, ice, food and other provisions needed. The ship is due to arrive in St Thomas on Tuesday, September 12.
