Dubai Harbour will boast a 2nd cruise terminal in addition to the one revealed in January.
Dubai will be the first cruise ship destination to build a couple of terminals simultaneously. When completed, the terminals will accommodate a total of 1,200,000 passengers per year.
The addition of a 2nd terminal is intended to build on city’s reputation as a leading destination, while capitalising on growth in cruise industry globally. Cruise industry data suggest that more than 40 million people will travel via cruise annually by 2030, up 40% from 24 million in 2017.
Each of Dubai's terminals will be approx 14,000 m2 in size with a single apron of 900m. While other ports feature multiple terminals, none have built more than one at any given time so far.
In addition to serving cruise industry, Dubai Harbour will boast the largest marina in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. Once complete, the marina will feature 1,100-berths able to accommodate some of the biggest private yachts in the world.
