Dream Cruises announced its new partnership with Alipay, the largest online and mobile payment platform in the world operated by Ant Financial Services Group.
The cruise line will now be able to launch the full suite of mobile payment options, giving passengers greater convenience via allowing the options of spot payment, auto-debit and self-checkout with Alipay or AlipayHK, the recently launched Hong Kong version of Alipay that supports transactions in HKD for users from Hong Kong.
The partnership builds on the commitment of Dream Cruises to innovation and long-term partnership of Genting Cruise Lines with Alipay that dates back from 2015 - the year when Star Cruises became the first line to accept Alipay spot payment onboard its fleet.
As of September 24, guests onboard Genting Dream can use Alipay and AlipayHK to settle stateroom charges at any time during the trip or automatically self-checkout through pre-authorizing the amount chargeable to Alipay wallets. Travellers can also use Alipay wallets when they dine and shop onboard.
The new mobile check-out solution will be introduced on World Dream, the newest luxury cruise ship in Asia from Dream Cruises, this November.
