The keel of TUI Cruises' new Mein Schiff 2 was laid today, October 5, at Meyer Turku shipyard.
The production milestone marks the start of the hull assembly. Mein Schiff 2 will be the sixth ship constructed by Meyer Turku for the German cruise line.
Mein Schiff 2 will be delivered in early 2019. It will be sister ship to Mein Schiff 1, scheduled for delivery in the spring of 2018. Both vessels are based on the successful Mein Schiff 6 with many improvements and brand new features for passengers to enjoy.
Mein Schiff 2 will be 315 meters long (20 meters longer than Mein Schiff 6). Both liners will have space for 2894 passengers and will be true sports & wellness ships. There will be a 438-meter jogging track, almost twice as long as on Mein Schiff 6, as well as a closed and covered sports arena. Mein Schiff 1 and 2 will also feature a climbing wall.
