The world’s largest cruise line, CCL-Carnival, is taking its time prior to returning to hurricane-ravaged ports of San Juan, Grand Turk, St Maarten and St Thomas USVI. According to a letter posted on line’s website by President Christine Duffy, Carnival is not returning to Puerto Rico until next year.
The next big focus of CCL is on China and cruisers may expect newer and larger Carnival ships. In 2018 Carnival debut its newest ship, Carnival Horizon, which is still under construction at Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
The newbuild sounds amazing and is due to set sail on April 2 with a 13-day Mediterranean voyage from Barcelona, the first of 4 round-trip departures from the port. Following is a 14-day transatlantic crossing to reposition Carnival Horizon to New York with a summer schedule of 4-day Bermuda and 8-day Caribbean cruises. Finally, Carnival Horizon will arrive in Miami with cruises starting September 22, 2018.
