The official reopening of Grand Turk Cruise Center was held on Wednesday, November 1, with a call from Carnival Ecstasy, part of a 7-day cruise from Charleston. Festivities included shipboard reception with the ship’s officers, Carnival Corporation executives, government and port officials.
During the day-long stop of Carnival Ecstasy in Grand Turk, passengers enjoyed a wide range of amenities, shopping and dining experiences, on-site pool, and various shore excursion experiences.
The visit from Carnival Ecstasy is the first of dozens going forward at the port, a US$60 million facility opened in 2006 by Carnival Corp. The 20-acre complex has direct access to the 800-foot-long beach, FlowRider attraction and swimming pool.
The cruise center is the gateway to Grand Turk Island, which is renowned as a snorkeling and diving jewel, and features magnificent beaches, aqua-blue waters, and watersports activities. Adventures like all-terrain vehicle excursions and ziplining are also available.
