A record number of cruise passengers have arrived in Halifax during 2017 cruise season, according to Halifax Port Authority.
The cruise season in the port city typically runs from mid-April through the end of October.
292,722 cruisers on 173 ships have landed in Halifax during 2017 season, the port authority announced in a news release, making 2017 the busiest year for Port of Halifax.
This year’s numbers represent a 23% increase over the previous record for the port. The number of cruise ships landing in Halifax has been up 27%.
