Azamara Pursuit will be named in Southampton in a first for the crise line, Azamara Club Cruises.
The other two ships of the operator, Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey, missed an official naming ceremony because they went straight into service following their original refurbishments.
After the christening of Azamara Pursuit on August 28, 2018 there will be a 2-night celebratory voyage.
Formerly, Azamara Pursuit was sailing for P&O Cruises under the name Adonia, and was purchased by Azamara Cruises in September.
Pursuit will be a sister ship to Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey, and will feature similar decor.
In mid-March Adonia will be delivered to Azamara Cruises at Grand Bahama Shipyard. The vessel will then head to Marseille.
The ship will be extensively renovated at a European yard, yet to be determined. The renovation is expected to be the largest in line’s history with mwost of the work focused on the interiors. However, there will also be technical overhaul.
A number of staterooms will be transformed into double-sized spa suites, such as those created in 2016 onboard Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest.
