After around 6 months of construction, the new BasseterreFerry Terminal was officially opened on Wednesday, December 6.
Mervin Lewis, facilities Manager at St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority, gave an over of the US$1.4 million-dollar project. The building was carried out by Public Works Department, local engineers and contractors.
Ian Liburd, Minister with responsibility for SCASPA, Transport, & public infrastructure, highlighted the importance of the new facility to inter-island travel between St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as the critical link it provided to tourism, commerce and other areas which contribute to the national economy.
