Cruise ship passengers added just over GBP 4 million to the economy of Guernsey in 2017, according to figures from a survey that was commissioned by the States.
That value remained stable from last year because 15 cruise ships were unable to dock in Guernsey because of poor weather.
Despite this fact, the average spend per cruise passenger has risen. It is a 15 % increase compared to 2016.
According to the Committee for Economic Development it's probably likely because of visitors spending more time in Guernsey. Nearly 2/3 of passengers spent 4 or more hours ashore.
The number of cruisers visiting Guernsey was down by more than 20,000 on last year.
The States said it was also because of the ships that were unable to visit the island due to poor weather.
More than 110,000 cruise passengers visited the island in 2017.
