The Coast Guard has medevaced a cruise passenger from a Royal Caribbean ship Sunday morning, December 24.
According to the United States Coast Guard, the vessel was 100 mi south of Southwest Pass, Louisiana when the accident occurred.
USCG watchstanders received a report from Vision of the Seas of a 23-year-old female passenger suffering from suspected internal bleeding from prior accident.
Watchstanders directed launch of helicopter aircrew. The aircrew arrived on the scene at 10:00 a.m. and hoisted the woman from the ship.
The passenger was then transferred to New Orleans' Jefferson Medical Center, reportedly in stable condition.
