As the powerful 'bomb cyclone' ravaged the United States' East Coast with snow and high winds, a Norwegian Cruise Line ship sailed right into storm's path, giving thousands of travelers a fearsome experience they are not likely to forget.
Passengers onboard Norwegian Breakaway were treated to monstrous winds, waves, rain and flooding for multiple days as the cruise ship made her way to New York City, navigating into the storm which made headlines all week.
After the trip, Norwegian Cruise Line apologized to passengers in two statements, saying the vessel "encountered stronger than forecasted weather conditions." The storm, however, was well-forecast, and the liner should not have been in the location.
