Nearly 50 people fell sick on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship that departed Baltimore, delaying its return.
According to Royal Caribbean spokesman Owen Torres, Grandeur of the Seas was originally scheduled to sail back to Baltimore on Thursday, January 11, but now will not until Saturday, January 13, following a total of 46 reported cases of gastrointestinal illness onboard.
The 2,900-passenger Grandeur left Baltimore on January 2 for a 9-day trip with visits to South Carolina, Florida and Bahamas.
The cause of the illness is still unknown. The doctors onboard the ship treated the affected by over-the-counter medication.
Last month, around 500 passengers on 2 separate Royal Caribbean voyages also fell sick.
