Cruise ship operator Star Cruises announceid that its flagship will call Manila home in March offering themed cruises to Taiwan and Japan.
SuperStar Virgo will sail a total of 18 voyages from Manila to Ishigaki (Okinawa, Japan) and Keelung (Taiwan) and back, as well as Manila to Naha (Japan) and Keelung and back.
The summer deployments out of Manila ports aim to bring affordable vacation to Filipino families through arranging visa-free visits to Japan and Taiwan, company officials said.
According to Andrea Solis Manzano, sales assistant vice president of Star Cruises, both Japan and Taiwan would not require visas so it would be very convenient and cost-saving for the Filipinos who go onboard the cruise ship.
The cruises run from March 5 through May 29. Last year, Star Cruises offered voyages from Manila to Laoag, Ilocos Norte and then to Kaohsiung, Taiwan and in Hong Kong prior to going back to Manila.
