Port Charlottetown is currently preparing for its record-breaking 2018 season with a total of 94 scheduled cruise ship visits.
This means that 115,000 passengers will visit the port city this year, which is a 28% increase over 2017 season.
According to Les Parsons, CEO of Charlottetown Harbour Authority, the numbers were "unprecedented for cruise on the Island and to see the sailing season spread further into the early months and through the summer is a great indication of where this business is going.’’
The port is also expecting at 9 inaugural calls.

Port's business development manager, Corryn Clemence, said it showed the growth of cruise in entire region. He added the opportunities that created to showcase Prince Edward Island as premier vacation destination and the propensity for cruise passengers to return had a substantial economic impact for the Island.
The season will kick off with a visit by Holland America’s ms Veendam May 2 and wraps up November 4 via a call from Silver Wind.
