A 46-year-old female passenger on a Carnival cruise ship has been evacuated to Charleston SC on Tuesday, January 30.
The woman reportedly suffered a stroke onboard Carnival Pride, about 15 miles east off the coast of Holy City according to the USCG (United States Coast Guard).
Coast Guard sector Charleston officials have been notified of the accident at 6:27 p.m. on Monday, but heavy fog did not allow for a Coast Guard helicopter to get to the vessel until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The passenger and a nurse were hoisted and then taken to Roper St.Francis hospital, according to Coast Guard officials. The woman was reported in stable condition.
