NCL has changed the route of Norwegian Getaway. From the middle of April through September 2018, the cruise ship will offer a western Caribbean route instead of an eastern itinerary.
Currently, the cruise ship is homeported in Miami Florida.
The new, 7-day western Caribbean itinerary will visit Roatan, Harvest Caye, Costa Maya and Cozumel. The previous, 7-day eastern Caribbean route would call at St Thomas USVI, Tortola BVI and Nassau.
Tortola and St Thomas were among the destinations that were hard-hit by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria in 2017. Immediately after the storms, Norwegian Cruise Line and many other cruise companies modified their routes to focus on western Caribbean, which emerged from the storms with little or no damage.
On November 10, 2017 St Thomas welcomed its first post-hurricane cruise visit by Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas.
