Cruise passengers now have the opportunity to experience AIDAnova prior to her maiden voyage. On November 15, 2018 AIDA Cruises will take ownership of its first newbuild of a new generation from the Meyer shipyard.
Travellers will be able to experience the brand new flagship on a series of pre-premiere sailings before the maiden voyage of AIDAnova when she leaves Hamburg on December 2, heading for the Canaries.
The short cruises can be booked as of today, February 1. The first 4-day sailing will start directly after the official handover of the vessel in Bremerhaven, November 15, and will lead from Oslo towards Hamburg, where AIDAnova will make her first visit on November 19. Further short cruises will depart from Hamburg, sailing to either Oslo or Rotterdam.
AIDAnova will be the world's first cruise ship that can be powered entirely via environmentally-friendly LNG (liquefied natural gas). This reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 80%, and CO2 emissions by a further 20%.
